At the beginning of my trip, I reached out to some friends letting them know what I was doing. They wanted to join me so I made my way across the country to Florida to pick them up. Before I arrived in Florida they had introduced me to who is now the love of my life and my beautiful bride, Nathalie.
Are you asking me or Naty? LOL! If you are asking me, it’s always tools. Aside from the regular things like clothes and essentials, I have to have my tools. For Naty it’s the InstantPot. She doesn’t go anywhere without it.

The RV lifestyle has been a dream come true for Naty and me. It’s the perfect blend of adventure, freedom, and opportunity, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything else..
Being together 24/7 has only strengthened our bond and allowed our love to flourish in unique ways. I’m not going to lie, it does stretch us in so many ways and pushes us to grow as individuals and has tested our relationship more than once but sharing every moment with the one you love on the road is what makes our journey even that more special.
Yes, we’ve been able to stay within our budget while living the RV lifestyle. By carefully planning our expenses and prioritizing experiences over material possessions, we’ve found a wonderful balance that allows us to enjoy our journey without financial stress.
The cost of RV living can vary depending on factors such as the type of RV, fuel expenses, campground fees, maintenance, and personal spending habits. On average, full-time RVers might spend anywhere from $1,400 to $3,000 per month, but this can vary greatly depending on individual circumstances and lifestyle choices. We are normally closer to $5000 per month on average because we like to do lots of different activities wherever we go but with all the amazing apps these days where you can get discounts on fuel, rv parks and food, the costs can managed quite easily. There are times when we spend less than $1000 dollars for the month because of proper planning.
Yes, managing water consumption while dry-camping is crucial. Here are some tips: 1. Use Water-Saving Fixtures: Install low-flow faucets and showerheads to reduce water usage. 2. Collect and Reuse Grey Water: Use grey water from dishwashing for flushing toilets or cleaning. 3. Opt for Short Showers: Take Marine PT showers (quick rinse, turn off water to lather, then rinse again) to minimize water use. 4. Bring Extra Water Containers: Carry additional water jugs or containers to extend your water supply. 5. Plan Water Usage: Prioritize essential uses like drinking and cooking, and plan your water usage to ensure it lasts for the duration of your trip. Implementing these tips can help you make the most of your water supply while enjoying your dry-camping experience.
People often ask us what we do for work, and they’re usually surprised by the answer. We believe in having multiple streams of income because a single income can easily disappear these days, so we don’t have traditional jobs. Our income comes from military retirement, Airbnb short-term rentals at five locations, financial investing (bitcoin, futures, stocks), The Nomad Preneurs Business Academy, and brand deals. I am medically retired from the Marine Corps and have been consulting as a business coach for the past four years, while Naty runs the day-to-day operations of our business and Airbnbs and is also a day trader. Additionally, we are full-time content creators and brand affiliates, sharing products and locations we love with our audience.
To keep our rig from smelling like food, we ensure proper ventilation, clean regularly, and use natural odor absorbers like baking soda and activated charcoal. We also cook strong-smelling foods outside whenever possible. Naty makes natural candles and scents from essential oils, which keep our RV smelling fresh and inviting. These practices help us maintain a comfortable and odor-free living space on the road.
We do laundry once a week, usually on Mondays, either at RV camps or public laundromats. During this time, we also take the opportunity to buy groceries and restock our supplies. This routine helps us stay organized and ensures we always have clean clothes. By combining laundry and shopping, we make efficient use of our time on the road.
Our favorite thing to do when the camera is not on is to enjoy some downtime with our adventure book and play cribbage. These activities allow us to relax, bond, and have fun together away from the hustle and bustle of our travel lifestyle. It’s a perfect way to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.
No, we’re not on vacation all the time. We work continuously, but we love what we do. Our various streams of income and content creation keep us busy, but the flexibility of our lifestyle allows us to enjoy the journey and our work simultaneously. This blend of work and adventure is what makes our life on the road so fulfilling. Nathalie likes money too much LOL …
Yes, there are still RV sites available despite the growing popularity of RVing. For us, the RV community is the best, offering camaraderie and support that makes finding spots even easier. While some popular destinations can fill up quickly, with a bit of planning and flexibility, we always find great places to stay. Our community shares tips on lesser-known gems and advanced booking strategies to ensure we always have a place to park and enjoy our travels.
No, we don’t feel unsafe boondocking because we have a lot of protection. We take necessary precautions and always choose our locations carefully. Our RV is equipped with security measures, and we stay connected with our supportive RV community, which helps us feel secure wherever we go. This allows us to enjoy the freedom and adventure of boondocking without worry.
In our business thinking, we don’t sell any property; instead, we always look for more investment opportunities. Currently, we have five Airbnb properties generating income for us. Renting out your house can be a great way to create an additional stream of income while retaining the asset for future growth and value.
It’s not all fun and games; there are definitely some slow times. While we love the adventure and excitement of our lifestyle, there are moments of routine and downtime. However, we cherish these slower times as they allow us to relax, recharge, and focus on our work and personal projects. It’s all part of the balance that makes our journey fulfilling and sustainable.
When making reservations, we typically list our rig as 45 feet long because we like the extra space but it all depends on where we are staying. If we are looking at National Parks or State Parks, we will usually list just the trailer length of 30ft, which it’s really 27 feet but it ensures we are in a good spot for the trailer length. This strategy will change of course as we move up in RV sizes in the future.
Yes, there are a few options and upgrades we wish we had. We would love to have a solar power system to enhance our off-grid capabilities and reduce our reliance on hookups. Additionally, a more advanced water filtration system would be great for ensuring clean water wherever we go. Upgrading to a larger refrigerator and adding more storage space would also make our travels more convenient and comfortable.
We get quiet time in the early mornings and late evenings, which we use to relax and recharge. Staying in touch with family and friends can be challenging due to our constant travel and varying time zones, but we make it a priority. We use video calls, social media, and messaging apps to keep our connections strong and ensure we stay updated on each other’s lives. Balancing our adventurous lifestyle with maintaining close relationships is important to us.
Ohhh absolutely! It’s like a constant mini earthquake every time you drive down the road so it’s important to make sure you stow away things that you don’t want to end up broken or that can make a mess.
We manage our mail on the road by using a mail forwarding service that collects and forwards our mail to us wherever we are. We also rely on digital communication and online billing to minimize physical mail. When we know we’ll be staying in one place for a while, we have packages and important mail sent directly to that location. These strategies help us stay on top of our mail and ensure we don’t miss anything important. This is who we use and we love it: My RV Mail
Yes, when we buy another trailer, getting a diesel truck is in our plan. A diesel truck will provide the additional power and efficiency needed for towing heavier loads and navigating various terrains. This upgrade will enhance our overall travel experience and ensure we can safely and comfortably tow our new trailer.
Oh that’s easy! One that can drive itself, park itself, level itself, know exactly when I’m getting too hot or too cold, float on water, fly through the sky and is all electric! LOL… but seriously, our idea of perfect is anything we can use to sleep in, eat in and enjoy each other in. There are certainly some perks that we wish we had right now like a back and side patio or a bigger kitchen but when it comes right down to it, the perfect RV is the one you feel most comfortable in. The idea is to make memories, not spend 24/7 in it!
The best time to go full-time RVing is when you have the flexibility and readiness to embrace a mobile lifestyle. For many, this might be when they have remote work opportunities, financial stability, and a clear plan for managing logistics like mail, healthcare, and vehicle maintenance. Additionally, starting during a season with mild weather can help ease the transition into full-time RV living. Ultimately, the best time is when you feel prepared and excited to do it. We only get one life. The best time is always now.
We handle routine check-ups by scheduling appointments during our longer stays in areas with reputable healthcare facilities. We plan our travel routes to include stops in locations where we can access our preferred medical providers. Telemedicine services also helps us manage some routine health needs remotely. This approach ensures we stay on top of our health while maintaining our travel lifestyle.
While we strongly encourage entrepreneurship through our Freedom Life Business Academy, we know that not everyone wants to have their own business so working remotely while living the RV lifestyle requires some strategic planning, but it offers incredible flexibility and freedom to. Our first tip would be to find stable internet. We invest in a reliable mobile internet setup, including a hotspot, signal booster, and backup options. We have also created a dedicated, ergonomic workspace inside the RV that helps maintain focus and productivity. Tools like project management apps and digital calendars keep us organized. We pretty much stick to a consistent work schedule and plan our travel routes to ensure good connectivity and comfortable workspaces. The most memorable destination we’ve visited with our truck and trailer is White Pocket in Arizona. The stunning and unique rock formations create an otherworldly landscape that left us in awe. The challenging drive to get there added to the adventure, making the experience even more rewarding. We spent hours exploring and photographing the breathtaking scenery, making it an unforgettable highlight of our travels. White Pocket’s beauty and remoteness truly make it a special place in our journey.
No, we didn’t have to convince each other to do the trip. Both of us were equally excited and eager to embrace the RV lifestyle from the start. Our shared love for adventure and exploring new places made the decision an easy and mutual one. The journey has only strengthened our bond and deepened our appreciation for this incredible way of life.
When living in an RV, it’s essential to choose small appliances that are compact, versatile, and energy-efficient. Here are some recommendations:
1. Instant Pot: This multi-function appliance can replace several others, allowing you to cook a variety of meals with ease.
2. Compact Coffee Maker: A small drip coffee maker, single-serve pod machine, or a French press can be great for morning brews.
3. Portable Induction Cooktop: If your RV kitchen space is limited, an induction cooktop provides a fast and efficient cooking surface.
4. Microwave/Convection Oven Combo: This appliance can handle heating and baking, making it a versatile addition to your kitchen.
5. Blender: Ideal for smoothies, soups, and other quick recipes, a compact blender is a useful tool. Bringing these small appliances can enhance your RV kitchen without taking up too much space.

After we started our RV journey, we got rid of several items to maximize space and efficiency. We let go of bulky kitchen appliances that weren’t essential and downsized our wardrobe to include only versatile, weather-appropriate clothing. We also eliminated unnecessary furniture and decor to create more living space. Books and DVDs were digitized, reducing clutter and weight. Overall, we focused on keeping only what was truly necessary and added value to our mobile lifestyle. It’s amazing what you think you need in your house and then never use. Same goes for the RV life.
For fear of my life, I’m not going to answer this question. (ppsst it’s Naty)! I’m kidding of course! maybe… but seriously in our family, it’s hard to pinpoint who gets grumpy because we both generally embrace the RV lifestyle positively. However, like anyone, we can have our moments, especially during stressful situations or long travel days. It’s easy to bite each other’s heads off when something so small goes wrong. We try to communicate openly and support each other to minimize any grumpiness and keep our journey enjoyable and harmonious. Remember, you only get one shot at life. How do you want to spend it?
We stay fit on the road by incorporating a variety of activities into our daily routine. We love hiking and exploring new trails at each destination, which keeps us active and allows us to enjoy nature. Additionally, we bring portable exercise equipment like resistance bands and yoga mats for workouts inside or outside the RV. We also enjoy biking, swimming, and kayaking whenever possible, with paramotoring and scuba diving being our favorite ways to stay active and explore new places. Staying consistent with these activities helps us maintain our fitness and health while traveling. Oh and don’t forget, eating healthy.
Yes, constantly moving and mentally preparing for full-time RV living can be challenging. The frequent transitions require careful planning and flexibility, which can sometimes be stressful. However, the excitement of discovering new places and the freedom of the open road make it worthwhile. We’ve learned to embrace a mindset of adaptability and resilience, which helps us navigate the ups and downs of this lifestyle. Overall, the rewards of full-time RV living far outweigh the challenges for us.
Yes, the trailer can feel small from time to time, especially during extended stays or bad weather when we’re indoors more often. However, we’ve learned to maximize our space efficiently and appreciate the cozy, intimate environment it provides. We also make it a point to spend plenty of time outdoors, enjoying the beautiful locations we visit, which helps alleviate any feelings of confinement. Regularly decluttering and staying organized also play a big role in making the space feel more comfortable. Ultimately, the benefits of our mobile lifestyle far outweigh the occasional sense of limited space.
Our favorite state is Florida. We love spending around 4 months each year there, soaking up its stunning beaches, warm weather, and exciting outdoor adventures. Florida perfectly blends adventure and relaxation, making it the ideal destination for our RV lifestyle. We also enjoy connecting with fellow RV enthusiasts and immersing ourselves in the vibrant local culture. Every visit feels like a new adventure waiting to unfold!
For dinner, we often enjoy preparing healthy and delicious meals using fresh, local ingredients. Tonight, we’re making a grilled lemon herb chicken served with a side of roasted vegetables and quinoa salad. We also love incorporating fresh juices from our Nama extractor, so we’ll be having a refreshing carrot-ginger juice to complement the meal. Cooking in the RV allows us to experiment with different recipes while maintaining a nutritious and balanced diet.
